Crash closes Burlington Skyway
HILDA HOY
STAFF REPORTER
An early morning collision between two tractor trailers has sent one man to hospital and delayed scores of commuters, forcing diversions on Toronto-bound traffic on the Burlington Skyway bridge.
The accident, which occured shortly before 5 a.m., spilled diesel fuel across the highway. The cleanup prompted the closure of all Toronto-bound lanes for approximately two hours.
The south lane of the bridge was opened shortly before 7 a.m., but delays were expected to continue. Traffic was being diverted onto Eastport Drive.
A driver of one of the tractor trailers was taken to Hamilton General Hospital with minor injuries. The OPP is still investigating the cause of the crash.
